christmas present
This was the wall hanging I made for my friend for Christmas. I took the photo so that I could post on another blog of mine, where I post crafts that I do, but I like how the photo turned out. Not that it's that exciting or anything, but I don't usually take very good photos of flat objects and things that have pictures on them that usually reflect light. Being an art major, I should probably learn how to take good pictures of my art...
my dog
Once again, I was playing with my settings and happen to take this amazing photo of my dog. It turned out so great because it was on a manual setting, rather than auto. Right afterwards, I took another photo of the same pose using auto, and it turned out so much different and terrible. I am definitely going to start using manual! After all, what's the point of having a nice camera to just use auto, anyways?
craft still-life
As I began playing with the settings on my camera, I began to discover how different a photo can look on Manual setting than Auto setting. You can get much different looks and moods when the camera is on Manual. When I was working on some of my Christmas presents, I took this still-life of my craft area and I just love how it turned out. The lighting is just so different than anything I've ever done, and I like it.

elf & stocking lights
Kevin and I went to the Holiday Lights and I intended to take pictures of the lights I thought were cool because what am I going to do with a million pictures of a bunch of lights? That didn't happen though and I ended up making him stop at every single light so that I could take a picture! So I ended up having a bunch of light pictures, so I picked a random one to put on here.

falling snow
I was sort of experimenting with my new point and shoot camera when I took this. I thought the lit up city across the street looked really pretty, so I took a picture of it. The picture didn't really turn out that well due to the snow, so then I decided to take a picture of just the snow, which did turn out. I really like the lamp off to the side and they way it lights up the lines of snow around it.
moving bus
On our way back from lunch downtown, I brought my camera to sort of take some quick pictures while we were walking. It was beginning to get dark, though and there were people everywhere, so nothing really decent came out. I happened to take this one real quick while taking a test shot and actually ended up liking it because I like the blurry moving bus and the stationary background. At some point, I definitely want to take some more pictures of moving objects that have still backgrounds.. I think they could turn out pretty neat with some more practice.

love shadow
My picture frame left a pretty neat shadow on my wall, so naturally, I took a picture of it. It was really hard for me to find a good composition with this picture for some reason, but I think I finally got something decent figured out. I like how it ended up.
grid lines
This one I was sort of just playing around with my camera and came across this cool image accidentally. This is a gridded cutting mat that I have and when I sat the camera on top of it to take a picture of something else, I thought it was really neat how the lines that are perfectly straight in real life, turned blurry and curvy at the top and bottom. Pretty interesting..
glass chess pieces
I LOVE how this photo turned out. This might actually be one of my most favorite pictures that I have taken thus far..

water droplets
I love shooting pictures of nature, and any chance I get at a cool nature shot, I take it. This one I took after a rainfall when I saw all of the water droplets just sitting on top of this plant. Water droplet pictures are always really pretty, I think.
christmas tree
I was fascinated at the shadows that this tree left on the walls, so I sat for a very long time to get the perfect picture of the tree, the lights, and the shadows. After a million tries, I think I got a good image that captures the way the neat reflections of the tree lights shine on the wall. I love the way it turned out!
tree shadow
I took this picture really, really quick and with the intention of taking a different picture, but I ended up with this and liked it. It's not the best picture in the world, but I like the shadow coming towards me... and it was taken really, really fast.

yellow grass
Somehow, Kev and I ended up with a patch of yellow grass. I think it was cuz the garbage can sat in this spot in the yard for a couple days and I guess it killed the grass.. it was the craziest thing. I took this picture of it and I really like it because I like the grass in the foreground and the out of focus houses in the background.
